January 3, 2015. Sponsored by Lindy Hop St. Louis, we threw an old fashioned Barn Dance at Willoughby Heritage Farms in Collinsville, IL*! I organized the evening with help from many talented individuals in the dance and jazz community in St. Louis.
Featuring live music by the Collinsville Cowhands, a band put together for the evening featuring western swing and traditional jazz tunes by TJ Muller, Kellie Everett, Jacon Alspach, Mark Ann Schulte, Joey Glynn, Ryan Koenig, and Joe Park (and several distinguished guests who sat in). The evening also featured a baking contest, a best-dressed contest, a free dance lesson, free local beer donated by Urban Chestnut Brewing Co., and a bazaar with local crafts and vintage vendors. We danced the night away, under the winter stars, and had a truly lovely time.
*Just outside of St. Louis, on the Illinois side of the river.
